Investigators are searching for Buddy Dewayne Wade, who is accused of shooting a Bassett man twice during a dispute Thursday night

The Henry County Sheriff's Office says Wade shot another man Thursday night.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who is charged with shooting another man Thursday night during an argument.

Investigators have charged Buddy Dewayne Wade, 30, of Fieldale, with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, discharging a firearm in a building, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The victim, Junior Shamaine Scales, 24, of Bassett, was shot in the torso and upper right leg about 10 p.m. while at an apartment on Grace Drive in Bassett, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

Scales was taken to  Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County and later transferred to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. His condition was not immediately available.

Investigators believe two guns were used in the shooting, the news release says. They found two guns at the scene, but only one had been fired. The other gun has not been located.
