Evington man killed in Bedford County crash
An Evington man died Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Bedford County, according to Virginia State Police.
Police spokesman Sgt. Rob Carpentieri said the incident occurred just after 12 p.m. on Turkey Foot Road, about three-quarters of a mile east of Virginia 811 in Forest.
Caleb Eli Brown Prettyman, 26, was westbound in a 2002 Ford Focus when he ran off the road and struck a telephone pole, Carpentieri said. The vehicle overturned and Prettyman was partially ejected from the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Carpentieri said the victim was alone in the vehicle and was not wearing his seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation.
