Outdoors retailer to close Roanoke store
Sportsman’s Warehouse said Tuesday that it will close its Roanoke store, along with 22 other locations nationwide.
The Utah-based outdoors retailer listed 23 stores on its Web site that are set for liquidation, including the Roanoke store which has been open for less than two years.
A news release states that these stores will be liquidated to reduce bank debt.
Fifteen other Sportsman’s Warehouse stores will be acquired by United Farmers of Alberta Cooperative Ltd., a Canadian company that operates farm and ranch supply stores and fuel stations.
“It is hoped that these actions will enable the firm to go forward as a viable entity with approximately 2,300 employees,” states a news release.
