No students injured in Roanoke County bus wreck
No students were injured this morning when the Roanoke County school bus they were riding in ran off the side of the road in Southwest County, police said.
The bus was traveling east in the 4000 block of Buck Mountain Road about 7:25 a.m. when the driver experienced a "medical incident," a news release from Officer J. Duffy said. Duffy was not immediately available to elaborate on the medical incident.
The bus ran off the road and came to rest in a ditch, the news release said.
Another bus took the students to Clearbrook Elementary, said school spokesman Chuck Lionberger.
The bus driver was taken to a hospital. Lionberger said he also could not elaborate on the medical incident because of HIPAA.
