Man dies in 30-foot fall at a Salem warehouse
A 29-year-old man died this morning after he fell about 30-feet through a roof at a Salem warehouse, police said.
Police and fire and rescue crews were called to Salem Frame in the 1900 block of Salem Industrial Drive about 10:40 a.m., said Lt. R.D. Clark.
A man working for a local roofing company fell through the roof, landing inside the warehouse.
He was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital where he died, Clark said.
The man's name has not been released because police have not notified his family, Clark said. He was living in the area, but is originally from Honduras.
The Virginia Department of Labor is also investigating.
