Woman dies in morning industrial accident
A 22-year-old Bedford County woman was killed early this morning in an industrial accident, Roanoke County police said.
Kasey St. Clair, a worker at Tecton Products in the 5400 block of Corporate Circle, died after she became entangled in a piece of equipment used to mix chemicals, said Det. Todd Farris. St. Clair was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police and medics were called to the company, which makes fiberglass, just before 12:30 a.m., Farris said.
Two co-workers who tried to resuscitate St. Clair were exposed to chemicals and were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Farris said.
The Virginia Department of Labor and Industry is also investigating.
