Man charged with DUI after alleged hit-and-run
Police arrested and charged a man with driving while intoxicated on Monday night, after a hit-and-run incident in the western part of Roanoke County.
The 21-year-old victim was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke County police said early this morning. The victim's name and condition were not available.
The crash happened at about 10 p.m. in the 4500 block of Fort Lewis Church Road, police said. The victim, who was either a pedestrian or a cyclist, was suspected to have been struck by a white Jeep Wrangler.
Police arrested James Reiling after finding the Wrangler three blocks away on the 4800 block of Fort Lewis Church Road.
The incident was still under investigation this morning.
