Jerry Falwell Jr. said the family has selected the location for Jerry Falwell Sr'.s burial in a grassy lawn in front of the historic Carter Glass Mansion, where the elder Falwell had his offices since the early 1990s.

"Dad had left instructions that the family should choose a site somewhere on the LU campus but he did not specify the exact location," said Falwell Jr., who is now chancellor of Liberty University. "This area seems perfectly suited because it is an undeveloped green section of the campus with mature trees, a beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and a large portion of the campus, including some of the athletic facilities that Dad enjoyed so much."

The building is on the National Register of Historic Places. Sen. Carter Glass, the secretary of the treasury under former President Woodrow Wilson, was its original owner.

Falwell's funeral is scheduled for Tuesday. It will be followed by a private burial service.
