Police arrested a Roanoke man Thursday night on a charge of stabbing a 22-year-old near downtown.
David Lee Bellamy, 51, was charged with malicious wounding following an altercation that evening that led to the stabbing, said police spokesman Scott Leamon.
The incident happened about 9:30 p.m. outside the Citgo gas station in the 400 block of Campbell Avenue Southeast, Leamon said. The two men apparently got into an argument inside the store that led to the stabbing outside, he said.
The victim, whom Leamon did not name, was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. His condition was not available on Friday.
