A Roanoke man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a Friday shooting that left another person injured.
Dominque Orlando Crowder, 23, is charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He was being held at the Roanoke City Jail on Tuesday evening, said Roanoke police spokesman Scott Leamon.
The shooting, which happened just after 9:15 p.m. in the 1100 block of Orange Avenue Northwest, injured 27-year-old Antonio Deshawn Saunders of Roanoke, Leamon said. Saunders was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening by a sergeant at the scene.
Hospital spokesman Eric Earnhart said Tuesday that he had no information on Saunders.
Officers Friday night roped off a gas station on the corner of 11th Street and Orange Avenue and part of an empty lot adjacent to it as they investigated.
