A person was taken to a hospital after a fall at a Roanoke construction site Wednesday afternoon.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m., Roanoke Fire-EMS responded to a call that someone fell at a construction site on the campus of Virginia Western Community College.
Roanoke Fire-EMS spokeswoman Tiffany Bradbury said a person was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. She said rescue workers were told the person fell 15 to 20 feet at the site.
Virginia Western Police Chief Craig Harris confirmed there was an “accident” on the construction site, but referred all questions to the Barton Malow Co., the construction company working the site. A call to a manager at Barton Malow was not immediately returned.
No further details were released.
