Britney Spears spotted at Lynchburg restaurant

A celebrity spotting in the Hill City isn't a common occurrence.

So when pop diva Britney Spears made an appearance at a Wyndhurst restaurant Thursday afternoon, it created a bit of an internet buzz.

Spear was spotted at The Neighbors Place, where she was "very polite" and left a generous tip, according to the restaurant's Facebook page.

What appears to be a cell phone photograph began circulating on social media sites of the pop star, gazing at her boyfriend David Lucado while sitting in one of the restaurant's booths. In the image, she appears to be wearing a black t-shirt and her blonde hair is swept up in a sloppy pony tail. Another person is sitting across from the couple.

Neighbors Place manager Jeff Eames declined to comment as to when Spears was at the restaurant, what she ordered or with whom she dined out of respect for her privacy.

Entertainment sites have reported that Spears, 31, began dating Lucado, an Appomattox native and Jefferson Forest High alum around Valentine's Day.

E! News reported the singer is in the Lynchburg area to accompany Lucado to a family wedding and the other person in the photo is Lucado's mother.

The singer's newest single is set to release Monday. Earlier this week, she tweeted photos of herself on set of the music video wearing a teal bikini and heels.

Spears rose to fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s on the success of songs including "...Baby one More Time," and "Oops!...I Did it Again."
