A .45-caliber pistol was seized after a man was found shot Saturday on a northwest Roanoke porch.

Police investigating a Saturday shooting in northwest Roanoke found a .45-caliber pistol in the home where the victim was found, according to court documents.
S creaming and banging noises drew Roanoke police to the 3400 block of Hillcrest Avenue Northwest shortly before 3:30 a.m. Saturday . When they arrived they found a man who had been shot, according to a search warrant filed in Roanoke Circuit Court. The warrant said the man was on the front porch of a home. Blood was found on the porch, and there was a hole in the front door.
Royal Jamal Ali Saunders, 34, was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. No information about his condition was available Monday.
Brandon Adelle Wright, a 31-year-old Roanoke woman, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding. She is being held in the Roanoke City Jail.
The warrant said investigators searched the home later Saturday morning, seizing a Taurus .45-caliber pistol and a .45-caliber
shell casing, along with a wallet, a cellphone and other items.
Roanoke police also took swabs of several surfaces in the home.
