Troopers are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that happened Saturday afternoon in Giles County.
Vada Ann Ramsey, 26, of Bland was pronounced dead at the scene, said Virginia State Police Trooper J.C. Reynolds.
Ramsey was westbound on Virginia 42 (Walkers Creek Valley Road), about one and a half miles west of Virginia 666 (Wildwood Lane), shortly after 4 p.m. when she ran off the left side of the road in her 2005 Ford Focus and struck a tree, Reynolds said.
Reynolds said troopers are still investigating the cause of the crash. He said the weather was clear at the time and the highway was dry.
Ramsey, the vehicle’s only occupant, was not wearing her seat belt, the trooper said. Her body was taken to Roanoke for an autopsy.
