A man was taken to the hospital after a wreck in Botetourt County Thursday evening.
Virginia State Police responded to a vehicle crash that occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on U.S. 460 in the westbound lane near Virginia 660, according to Sgt. Robert Carpentieri.
Carpentieri said an investigation into the wreck revealed a 2005 Ford 500, four-door sedan was traveling west in the right lane when the driver ran off the ride side of the road and struck a Jeep that was parked on the lot of RS Automotive.
The driver, Cleatus Lee Gavin, 73, of Roanoke was transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Carpentieri said. Gavin, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was charged with failure to maintain proper control of a vehicle.
