The work of a pesky squirrel Sunday morning cut power to a portion of north Roanoke, including Roanoke Regional Airport, a power company official said.
Appalachian Power Co. spokesman Todd Burns said electricity went out for several customers after the rodent found its way into some electrical equipment. Power was restored by noon.
Sherry Wallace, a spokeswoman for the airport, said the outage did not affect flights or services at the airport, which used back-up generators to power the facility as crews worked to repair the damage.
