Roanoke police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Friday.
Police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson said police arrived at 2:18 p.m. at the One Stop Market in the 800 block of Bridge Street Southwest where an employee said two men entered the business and demanded money.
The employee, a man, said one of the men had a firearm, Johnson said, and he was physically assaulted but was not shot. The men obtained an undisclosed amount of money and fled.
Johnson said the store employee was treated at the scene by Roanoke Fire-EMS, and no arrests have been made.
The suspects are described as two black males. One was wearing dark clothing. The other was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with information should call the Roanoke Police Department at 853-5959 or Crime Line at 344-8500.
