Roanoke police are looking for a man who robbed the Kmart store on Hershberger Road on Saturday night.
Police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson said officers responded to the store in the 1400 block of Hershberger Road at 10:27 p.m. Three employees said a man had entered the store after it closed and showed a firearm.
They said he demanded money. After one of the employees gave him an undisclosed amount of money, he left the store through a back door and fled in a dark vehicle parked next to that door, Johnson said.
No one was hurt, she said.
Police are looking for the suspect, who is described as a black male in his 20s. Johnson said he weighs about 180 pounds and stands between 5 feet, 8 inches and 5 feet, 11 inches tall. He was wearing black pants, a black sweatshirt with a zipper in the front, a baseball cap and a dark cloth or shirt wrapped around his face.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Roanoke police at 853-5959 or Crime Line at 344-8500.
