Three men were arrested Monday when Radford police raided a drug lab in an apartment complex, authorities said.
Lucas Nelson, 18, of Hampton; Casey Gleich, 19, of Radford; and Colin Hope, 20, of Radford, were arrested in the 400 block of Sanford Street in the Copper Beech Apartment complex, police Lt. Andy Wilburn said in a news release. Nelson did not live in the apartment, but Gleich and Hope did, the release said.
All three were charged with conspiring to distribute more than 1⁄2 ounce marijuana and conspiring to manufacture a Schedule I or II controlled substance. Gleich was also charged with manufacturing a Schedule I or II controlled substance, and Hope was also charged with manufacturing a controlled Schedule I or II substance and distributing more than 1/2 ounce but less than 5 pounds of marijuana.
The release said that inside the apartment, police found marijuana, “numerous smoking devices,” more than $5,000 in cash and materials associated with a DMT drug lab, which the release said is similar to a meth lab.
The Radford Fire and Rescue Department found no environmental hazards to other apartment complex residents from the substances associated with the DMT lab, the release said.
Nelson, Gleich and Hope are being held in the New River Valley Regional Jail on bond.
