A body found in Bath County on Friday has been identified as Harriet Cobb, a James Madison University professor reported missing March 10, state police said.

Sgt. Rob Carpentieri said Cobb, 62, was found in Back Creek by a state police dive team. Her body was found about noon only three-tenths of a mile from where her silver BMW had been found days before along Virginia 39.

"It doesn't look like it was of a suspicious nature," Carpentieri said of the death.

Cobb, a graduate psychology professor at the university, was last seen about 2 p.m. March 9. Authorities had used a state police helicopter and dogs to assist in tracking her location.
