The Bath County Sheriff's Office, Virginia State Police and fire and rescue volunteers searched Monday for a missing woman in Bath County.

A state police helicopter and a Covington dive team aided in the search that started early Monday, said Teresa Phillips of the Bath County Sheriff's Office.

Phillips said crews were searching the Mountain Grove area, where the missing woman's car was found. The woman, reported missing by her family over the weekend, is from the Harrisonburg area. Her car was found on Virginia 39 in Bath County.

Phillips said the woman is a 62-year-old white female who is possibly suicidal. She is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 115 pounds. She was last seen wearing a light green shirt and black pants. Phillips said officials are not releasing her name.
