Ferrum College reported Thursday that the small, private, four-year school, founded in 1913, has launched a Centennial Campaign to raise $25 million "in support of Ferrum College academics."

The college, based in Franklin County, described the fundraising effort as "the largest capital campaign ever undertaken by Ferrum College." And it said Jennifer Braaten , the college's president, and others will share more details about the campaign Monday evening at the Taubman Museum of Art in downtown Roanoke during a reception for the college's third annual Forum on Critical Thinking, Innovation and Leadership.

On hand for the capital campaign announcement will be "key Ferrum College faculty, staff and students, as well as alumni, friends of the college and Roanoke business and civic leaders," according to a news release.
