Roanoke County man charged with rape

Roanoke County police arrested a county man early Tuesday morning on charges he sexually assaulted a woman.
Jared Steven Hoke, 26, faces charges of rape, sodomy and object sexual penetration, authorities said.
Sgt. Mike Poindexter said officers arrested Hoke after the woman filed a complaint, in person, Monday night at the police department.
Poindexter said the woman reported that a rape occurred at 4:45 p.m. at Hoke's house in the southern part of Roanoke County. He could not say why the woman was at Hoke's house or what led to the alleged attack.
"They know each other, but they're not in a relationship," Poindexter said.
Hoke was listed Tuesday as an inmate at Roanoke County-Salem Jail in Salem.
