Holy Land USA in Bedford is in many ways a religious theme park.

Guests come from all over the state, pile into school buses and tour through different bibilcal locations around the 200-acre nature preserve.

On a typical Saturday afternoon, volunteer tour guides like Dave Ward can give 2 or 3 tours that each last a little more than 2 hours.

As a philosophy and religion student at Liberty University, Ward said his experience as a guide is great preparation for whether he'll be teaching or preaching after he graduates.

The park has attracted an estimated 500,000 visitors since 1972. And despite similar, more elaborate relgious parks around the nation, Ward believes Holyland's simplicity adds to the experience.
