LeVita Washington, the PTA president for Forest Park, knocked on doors, left pamphlets and talked to people about keeping the school open.

She encouraged people to attend Wednesday night's school board meeting to voice their opinion on a proposal to close the Northwest Roanoke elementary school next year and open an alternative academy in its place.
