Video: Williamson Road shooting
Roanoke police are investigating a robbery and a shooting at a convenience store Thursday on Williamson Road.
A male clerk was shot at the Citgo in the 1700 block of Williamson Road about 4:45 p.m., police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson said. The clerk was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Police have not released his name.
Johnson said officers are looking for a suspect who fled the scene on foot. He is described as a black male in his late 40s or early 50s, is 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs between 185 and 200 pounds. He was wearing a light gray or white sweatshirt.
Johnson said police are also seeking a person of interest who was seen driving away from the scene. She said the driver was a male and described his car as a gunmetal gray Ford Crown Victoria with stock wheels.
