Authorities captured the bear that was running loose in the Kimball Avenue area in Northeast Roanoke.

The female black bear was shot at least three times with tranquilizer darts and finally succumbed shortly before 4 p.m. near train tracks off the 1000 block of Kimball Avenue, authorities said. See photos from the chase.
