Protests at Virginia Tech's April 16 remembrance
Last week's dispute between gun control advocates supporting a protest at Virginia Tech and university officials and students who thought it would detract from ceremonies to honor April 16 victims has been resolved.

Protesters will hold a 32-person lie-in Wednesday on the Drillfield.

Talk about the planned protest for April 16.

I strongly disagree with any kind of protest on or around the Virginia Tech campus on 4/16, or any other date for that matter. The thought of this "lie in" is making me ill, and I let them know it via e mail.

Integrity is void in today's society. I urge these Brady folk, and any other individual to show some class, and leave Virginia Tech ALONE on this day of rememberance.

VA Tech, as any place of business or institution, has the right to ban certian individual(s) and or groups from their property. And as far as my two cents worth goes....if these protest groups or persons show up....I'd have the Va Tech Police break out the billy clubs and beat them senseless!!!

As a parent of two VT students I feel April 16 should be a day of remembrance and reflection for Tech students, faculty and community. This is not the day for protest groups to visit the campus. Please let the VT community have this day.

Not just pushing an agenda, either... it's about making money. Remember right after the incident, Virginia Tech was outraged to find that people were selling non-licensed massacre merchandise.

All massacre merchandise must be approved by Virginia Tech. They own the rights to the massacre, I believe.

They should be allowed to demonstrate somewhere besides the place where the rememberance activities are being held. I can guarentee the pro-gun/concealed carry people will be there as well, myself included, but I will not disrupt any activities like lying in the middle of the drill field. I plan on wearing my empty holster to show my support, no signs or chanting or crap like that.

I don't get it. How is this supposed to help a community heal? Oh wait, that is right, it is not about helping the community, it is about pushing an agenda.

Please take the protests off campus on a day
when the whole world will return to Virginia Tech. I can think of a lot more constructive behavior like signing up new voters for the presidential election that will make a change. Plant 32 trees and help clean up the environment.

You guys are a disgrace to the Virginia Tech community. After all that we have een through, people want to protest on a day of rememberence?? You have to be kidding me. Grow up or get the hell off of our campus. Have some respect..

Nope. Tech is completely within their rights to prohibit them from gathering. Time and place retrictions on protests has long been held to NOT be a violation of the First Amendment. Given the fact that there's blood on the Tech administration's hands for enabling Cho to go on his rampage with his personal safety assured, they'd be NUTS to allow such a protest.

On the other hand, the Brady Campaign is possibly the most effective "false flag" operation ever run by Republicans.
