ART OPENING
Unexpected Unions of Shape and Color
Suzun Hughes – Digital Artist
Roanoke, VA
Opening - Art By Night – Thursday, August 2, 2007 5-8PM
Artistic Statement
Using the computer and digital cameras as artistic tools, I capture the organic textures and abstract forms around me and recreate these images into unexpected unions of shape and color. I rework them in the computer with compositing, layering, and blending techniques and exploring the possibilities of the base image. The resulting reflective symmetry and kaleidoscopic form produces an abstract structure with depth and luminosity.

I work for one of those "tax and spend" social programs. In my free time I am an artistic hermit who hardly goes out. I grieve daily over the war in Iraq and the senseless loss of life. I was one of the few who realized the uranium from niger was a load of crap from the start. I should have done more to prevent the war.maybe I wasn't screaming loud enough. For the past 3 years I have found a way to stay half way sane and to cope with this huge tragedy called bush through my art. warning!!!My art does not contain sexual acts but it is very graphic. I have no respect for george bush. none.

This board has a new and exciting purpose: in addition to being a sounding board for subjects covered in my columns, it will also offer a way for people to promote their art. So, feel free to post, letting us all know where your work can be seen locally, or post a link to your web site or online gallery, or post a link to your art for sale on eBay.
RULES: Although much of the art world contains nudity, please do not post links to images showing nudity or conveying acts of a sexual nature. Do not post links or information for products that are not art. Thanks! Now, let's see who's creating what!
