Wasn't there a city councilman that said a couple of years ago that building a conference center at the Civic Center was a bad idea, since conference centers only work when a part of a hotel. So, city taxpayers, like me, just paid for the big box building at the Civic Center, and now The Hotel Roanoke is building a much better one a couple thousand yards away? What are we going to do with the big box at the Civic Center? Money wasted.

Its about time!! If Roanoke suddenly becomes a tourist destination I'm wondering where people will stay downtown since the Hotel Roanoke is the only upscale place. Someone really should've saw this coming years ago. A spa is also long overdue.
