There's no better embedded bluegrass tradition in Buena Vista than the Nothin' Fancy Bluegrass Festival.
Next weekend's version will be the 13th annual go-round for the band Nothin' Fancy and its namesake festival. A s usual, the band has some strong friends along to perform.
Rhonda Vincent , who has been a headliner since at least 2008, returns with her band, The Rage. They are touring behind Vincent's latest CD, "Sunday Mornin' Singin,'" chock full of gospel songs, and will play two Saturday sets, including the festival-closer.
Other festival favorites include Franklin County's Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers, and Salem's the Bluegrass Brothers.
Camping is part of the event, which will happen rain or shine, as all the music is staged in the Glen Maury Park pavilion. Bonus: It's a dog-friendly event, but keep them leashed.
