Blue Ridge Wildflower Society Field Trip
The group will visit Arcadia and identify plants. This field trip will also include a group of Girl Scouts. Bring water, a snack and rain gear. Although the walking will be short and not difficult, it is on uneven ground.

Meet at the picnic pavilion at the back side of park. Bring some work gloves, because after the walk the group may pull some garlic mustard, which is a serious invasive. This area is rich in twin leaf, toothwort and large flowered trillium. Bring water, a snack and rain gear.

Buchanan Arbor Day Celebration
Join Buchanan as it plants “the seeds of tomorrow today” during the town’s sixth annual Arbor Day Celebration. Celebrate Buchanan’s inclusion in the Tree City USA Program with a commemorative tree planting with trees purchased through donations by local citizens, businesses and a $1,600 grant from Valley Beautiful.
When: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
