Recently my mother-in-law passed away because of multiple health complications.

While she was in the cardiac intensive care unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, she had a nurse by the name of Brenda Richards.

I would hate to think the number of times that she has sat with a family as a loved one left this world to their reward, but she was, to me, the epitome of a caring nurse. She not only let us know what was going on with Mom, but she also cried with us as she tried to comfort us.

She had such empathy that I can’t even put it into words.

I would like to thank the hospital staff but mostly my thanks go to a true angel. Thank you, Brenda Richards.
