I am writing in reference to oxymoron sayings.

Recently, I made a family visit to rural West Texas. There you drive for miles and never see another vehicle but may notice an occasional country road sign. On one particular drive I chuckled when I saw a small road sign that read, “City Farm Road.” (Huh!)

During my visit I had to purchase a family member some “Icy Hot Packs” for an aching back. When are they hot, or when are they cold?

Over the weekend a Weekly Standard news headline that was taken from the White House official Twitter account caught my attention.

It read, “White House Marks Mother’s Day by Celebrating Free Birth Control!”

What a simply profound oxymoronic headline!
