Autumn Leaf Rambler
Botetourt County and Franklin County Parks and Recreation are sponsoring a bus trip to Dillwyn to ride the Autumn Leaf Rambler train on a 3 ½-hour round trip to New Canton. Civil War tour
The History Museum of Western Virginia and the O. Winston Link Museum are sponsoring a bus trip through the Shenandoah Valley and central Virginia to learn about Union Gen. David Hunter's raid during the Civil War. The trip begins with a tour of Virginia Military Institute, led by Col. Keith Gibson, museum director. Trip also includes Buchanan, Bedford (with lunch at Liberty Station), New London and Sandusky (Hunter's headquarters).
