Acoustic bluesman Roy Book Binder will bring his combination of music and humorous stories to Smith Mountain Lake on Sept. 20. The concert, sponsored by Smith Mountain Arts Council, will be held at Trinity Ecumenical Parish in Moneta at 7 p.m.

Book Binder has been touring and entertaining audiences since 1976, when he boarded a tour bus in Greenwich Village and trave led for 15 years. He’s toured with Bonnie Raitt, JJ Cale and Hot Tuna, among others, playing a balance of country blues, folk, ragtime, Tin Pan Alley favorites, Dixieland jazz and old medicine show ditties.

Tickets, available at the SML Visitor Center, The General Store and RadioShack, are $17 for SMAC members and $20 for non-members. To pay, send a check and a self-addressed stamped envelope to SMAC, P.O. Box 70, Moneta, VA 24121.
