Whitney Brock's "Cherry Grove Pier" was named Best of Show in the Smith Mountain Arts Council's 24th Art Show, which was held Oct . 25-27 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Moneta.
Voters selected "Musical Bones" by Penny Simmons as the People's Choice. Forty-eight artists entered the show, which featured 110 paintings. Student artists entered 14 paintings and four three-dimensional works in the student competition.
The event was co-chaired by Mary Lou Koons, Leslie Santapaul and Penny Simmons, with additional assistance from SMAC artists.
Ted Batt of Virginia Commonwealth University served as judge.
