Bank of Botetourt has partnered with local elementary schools to show young students how to open and maintain their own savings accounts.
Bank of Botetourt’s Elementary Savings Account allows children up to the fifth grade and their parents or guardians to save for their future.
After the student graduates to middle school, the account will be converted to a Kid$ave Account.
This account helps young people to understand the value of saving money and teaches them how earning interest can increase their savings.
Once a month, a Bank of Botetourt employee will visit schools for “Bank Day” allowing children who have opened accounts to make regular deposits at the school.
