Jon Dabareiner, treasurer of The Smith Mountain Lake Boating Association, recently presented a check for $4,000 to SML Marine Volunteer Fire/Rescue Co. The donation is one of several that will benefit local churches, organizations and nonprofits from money raised during the annual the Tom Maynard Memorial Poker Run, which was held in May. Epworth United Methodist Church has received $500. Spokesperson Pamela Poss said more disbursements will be made in the future.
