Hurt’s office to host students interested in service academies

The office of 5th District Rep. Robert Hurt, R-Chatham, will host a Fall Academy Day on Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. until noon at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham.

The informational session will bring together representatives from the five service academies — the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy and U.S. Naval Academy — and prospective students.

The parents of students and the guidance counselors of students who may be interested in applying to one of the academies also are invited to attend this learning session.
