Some two dozen members of the New Pan Steel Orchestra performed to a full house on Sunday at the W.E. Skelton 4-H Educational Conference Center in Wirtz. The musicians were 10 and older, and several played as many as six drums at once.

Many of the guests brought food and drinks to enjoy during the performance, which was sponsored by the Smith Mountain Arts Council.

A free steel drum workshop will take place at Trinity Ecumenical Parish on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
