Members of the Bedford International Alliance will travel to France in June 2014 to join the celebration of the 70th anniversary of D-Day. The group has made the trip several times for similar celebrations and found the residents of the region hospitable and grateful for the sacrifices made by liberating U.S. service members.

To date, 75 percent of the trip’s capacity is filled. The limit is determined by the size of the bus that will transport the travelers from Paris to Normandy and back.

While in Normandy, members will stay with host families in the Omaha Beach area and join their hosts in their daily activities. The group will return to Paris for a two-night stay and sight-seeing.

The return trip will include a three-night stay in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland.

Although the majority of the organization’s members are from Virginia, others live in Tennessee, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Ohio.

For more information, contact Tom Messier at586-3059, Charlie Walker at 297-551 or any member of the alliance.
