Kyle Bidwell, 16, of Boy Scout Troop 130 at Epworth United Methodist Church in Moneta, completed his community requirement in June to become an Eagle Scout. His project, the construction of access steps, was built on the banks of Gills Creek at Booker T. Washington National Park. The steps will be used primarily by groups studying water quality and the ecology in and around the creek area. Fellow Scouts from Troop 130 worked with Bidwell, a junior at Franklin County High School, to help make the project come together. He is the son of Betty and Joe Bidwell of Glade Hill.
