Brenda Smith has been named president and chief executive officer of MainStreet BankShares Inc., headquartered in Martinsville, and Franklin Community Bank, N.A, headquartered in Rocky Mount. She also has been named a director of Franklin Community Bank, N.A., which has two of its three branches in the SML area.
Smith has served as acting president and CEO since December 2012 when she took over after the death of president and CEO, Larry A. Heaton. Before that, she was the company’s executive vice president and chief financial officer. Smith has been with MainStreet since it started in 1999.
Todd S. Hammock has been named executive vice president and senior lender of Franklin Community Bank. He has served as the bank’s vice president and head of business lending. Hammock has 20 years of banking and lending experience and is a native of Franklin County.
