An 11-year-old boy was injured while riding a personal watercraft at Smith Mountain Lake, according to conservation police officer Sgt. Bryan Young of the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.

On Friday, about 10 a.m., the child was riding on the back of a rented PWC , which was towing a tube with another rider, when he fell off . The tube struck the boy in the head, and he was airlifted by Med-Flight to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. No charges were filed.
