Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce has received $9,658.50 from the Virginia Tourism Corporation Marketing Leverage Grant Fund program. Gov. Bob McDonnell earlier had increased funding for the program as part of his administration’s efforts to increase economic development through tourism.

The SML chamber received the grant for its “It’s Closer than You Think” MOBILE Promotion. The chamber partnered with Bedford and Franklin counties to supply $500 in matching funds for the project.
