Jim Hendry, a living historian, visited the Southside Senior Citizens Association in Moneta during its monthly covered-dish luncheon in July.

A lifelong educator, he has a master’s degree in secondary education and has completed course work toward a doctorate in curriculum and instruction.

Hendry has taught more than 80 courses at the upper elementary, junior high, senior high and college levels.
