New trustees appointed at Ferrum College

Ferrum College has announced the appointment of six new members to its board of trustees. They are Clay Campbell, president of Martinsville Speedway; Joey Cornwell of Boones Mill, president of the Ferrum College Alumni Board of Directors; Ernestine Dunning of Staunton, a member of United Methodist Women; retired educator Olivia Hinton of Portsmouth; Baxter Phillips of Manakin Sabot, former Massey Energy Co. CEO; Kathleen Overby Webster, United Methodist Church Roanoke District superintendent; and Joyce Winston of Hampton, United Methodist Women president.

Ferrum College President Jennifer Braaten praised the new members, as well as the entire board.

“We are truly excited to welcome these new trustees. Our board members comprise a dynamic group of effective and visionary leaders, and we are blessed by their ongoing support and encouragement,” said Braaten. “These newest members will bring their own unique talents and perspectives to the group, and we thank them for their willingness to serve.”
