Arazae Johnson was described as having a big heart. His grandmother, Terry Cabbler, said that he loved to spend time with his younger brothers and that he was "a good kid."
Johnson was shot and killed in a parking lot in Northwest Roanoke in September 2008. He was 20 years old and was the son of Michelle Wade.
"These kids get out in the wrong place at the wrong time," Cabbler said.
Although Johnson's death has been hard on his family, the Cabbler and Wade families have decided to donate to the Good Neighbors Fund in his honor.
"People are just struggling so hard, and this is the only thing we could think to do," Cabbler said.
"He was a good little boy," Cabbler said of her grandson. "He really was."
