Rob and Maria Garst know the value of their experience with a positive environment for health care. They have donated to The Roanoke Times' Good Neighbors Fund in honor of the nursing and administrative staff at Raleigh Court Nursing Center.

In 2007, after a 10-day hospital stay, Maria Garst took her nursing care at the facility. The nursing and administrative staff worked together with her doctors. Garst said, "As far as I am concerned, they are the best in Roanoke County."

The staff became her friends and "were just wonderful to myself and my husband," Garst said. "This is the second year we have donated in honor of them."
